Ryan Gorcey is an author, award-winning journalist, multimedia communicator, and editor. Above all, though, Ryan is a storyteller, crafting evocative stories that humanize complex ideas and make abstract concepts accessible, understandable, and relatable, all while finding the underlying humanity in every story.
Ryan has always had an affinity for the stories we tell and the heroes we create. Along with over 10 years as an award-winning sports and enterprise journalist, Ryan has also held a lifelong fascination with pop culture and heroic literature. Now, after 20 years of deep academic research, that passion has led to his first book, due out in 2027: From King Arthur to Captain America: The Shared Origin of Comic Book Superheroes.

Inspired by a childhood spent reading Jim Murray and Rick Reilly, Ryan spent more than a decade as a sportswriter. He has covered everything from recreational record setters to No. 1 draft picks to Hall of Famers, high school playoffs to the NBA Finals. He specializes in crafting compelling human interest enterprise features that connect reader and subject.
With more than a decade as a journalist, Ryan not only knows what stories reporters will want to tell, but what resources they need to tell them best.
